With headquarters in London, HSBC is currently the biggest bank in the UK, with 48 million customers worldwide. HSBC offer a wide range of bank accounts in the UK, including one that come with a monthly fee in return for various benefits. This type of current account is known as a packaged bank account.
HSBC’s Advance current account (previously known as Plus) offers various insurance policies including travel insurance, home insurance and breakdown cover. HSBC no longer offer this account to new customers, but if you had an account that you paid monthly for, it could be an Advance account.
The Advance account monthly fee was £12.95. However, some people may have been sold these accounts without knowing what the benefits are, or without actually qualifying for the insurance policies.
